The first week, students were allowed to use the construction equipment to build whatever they wanted to. The either worked on their own or with a buddy. They then had to describe what they had made and how they made it. Here are photos of them throughout their time in the classroom.
Over the next couple of weeks we learnt about bridges. We watched a video about different types of bridges, looked in books about bridges and used the I Pads to help us decide which type of bridge we were going to build. Our task was to build a strong bridge using straws, string, tape and some paper. We had to design our bridge, then we began making it. This is the clip which we watched from You Tube:
